EXPECTED POPULATION INCREASE LEADS TO SEWERAGE IMPROVEMENTS

Gunnedah’s sewerage treatment plant is set for an $8 million upgrade in the next financial year.
Council has allocated the funds, hoping to update the facility to be able to cater for the town’s projected population increase to 14,000 over the next 15 years.
“Some of the equipment has been there for the best part of a century. The other of it will be state of the art, and cater for the next 50 years. Beyond.”
The project will be put out to tender in July.
