WAR AND POLICE MEDALS STOLEN AT GUNNEDAH

Police are appealing for assistance after Vietnam service medals and NSW Police service medals were stolen from a property in Gunnedah.

An unknown person or group of people is believed to have broken into the property on Oxley Way between 3pm Saturday and 9am Thursday.

They then used keys found inside to open two firearm safe and remove five firearms, along with approximately 1500 rounds of ammunition

Jewellery and a stamp collection were also stolen.

A Mitsubishi Triton was also stolen and later found submerged in the Naomi River, behind a factory on Boggabri Road.

An all-terrain performance vehicle and two motorcycles are also missing from sheds on the property.
