37 Lake Macquarie residents from 15 different countries are among Australia’s newest citizens, after taking the Citizenship Pledge at Lake Macquarie Council Chambers today.
Canada, the Philippines, Nepal, Peru, India, the United Kingdom, Spain, were among the nations represented at the City’s first citizenship ceremony for the year.
Lake Macquarie major Kay Fraser welcomed the new citizens, saying the contributions made by people from other countries and cultures enriches the diversity of the community.
