Regional Express Airlines will cease all services to Grafton from July 3.
The bombshell announcement comes after the Clarence Valley Council offered to waive a $9000 landing charge at the city’s airport.
REX rejected the offer because of what it claimed was hostility by some councillors toward the airline.
The decision has sent shockwaves through Council, which wanted to keep the airline in the region.
