WEATHER UPDATE: THUNDERSTORMS FIRING UP

Thunderstorms have fired up across New South Wales this afternoon. Severe storm warnings are in place for the Hunter, the Mid North Coast and the North West Slopes and plains.

From the satellite, you can see that white cloud that’s developing with the storms.
A huge swirl of cloud is covering the top end where ex tropical cyclone Oswald has dumped flooding rain over the last couple of days.

The heaviest of the storms this afternoon have been across the Western Parts of the Central Coast and the Hunter Valley. They’re slowly moving in over the coast.

On the inland radar, a line of storms fired up west of Tamworth and Gunnedah, moving slowly east and bringing some rumbles to the country music capital.

High pressure to the south and light winds have led to a hot day. An inland trough is triggering the storms.

Another warm day with storms is expected tomorrow.
