A man has sustained serious injuries following an explosion at a property north-east of Grafton overnight.
Police have been told a man was holding a lit firework when it exploded.
The 40-year-old suffered serious burns and lacerations, including the loss of three fingers.
Paramedics treated him at the scene, before he was flown to Gold Coast Hospital in a stable condition.
