NEW ENGLAND NORTH WEST COMMUNITIES LOOK TO BECOME REGION’S FIRST ZERO NET ENERGY TOWN

Following Walcha’s bid to become the region’s first Zero Net Energy town – many other communities are now following its lead.
Manilla and Uralla are the latest towns to apply to the initiative, which encourages rural towns to convert to renewable energy sources.
Armidale-based business Starfish Enterprises is in the process of selecting a New England town to be the focus of a case study, which aims to research the costs of changing to renewable energy.
Expressions of interest close this Friday – a meeting will be held at Manilla RSL Club on Thursday night from 6.30 for interested residents.
