As Grafton turns purple for the Jacaranda Festival next week, police have appealed to people to exercise care when taking selfies.
They say there have been a number of incidents in recent days where motorists have had to avoid people taking photos in the middle of the road on tree-lined streets.
Thousands of national and international visitors are expected in Grafton over the next week as the beautiful jacarandas come into full bloom.
