James Gavet’s time at the Newcastle Knights has come to an end.
The club confirmed Gavet’s departure in a statement on Monday, saying “the Samoan international departs the Club to take up an opportunity to secure his long-term future”.
30-year-old Gavet pulled on the red and blue on 18 occasions last year, having signed from the New Zealand Warriors at the start of the 2019 season.
Gavet is understood to be heading to the Super League to join Huddersfield.
