ALLEGED ATTEMPTED ROBBERY IN LISMORE’S CBD

A 27-year-old man has been charged after allegedly threatening a man with a pistol in Lismore overnight.

Police have been told the Ballina man approached his victim on Uralba Street just before 10 o’clock on Thursday night, demanding money and personal items.

The man refused to hand over his belongings, with the 27-year-old running from the scene.

He was later tracked down hiding in the nearby Crowther Car Park, allegedly in possession of a replica pistol.

Following his arrest, he was charged with robbery armed with an offensive weapon and breach of bail.
