BIG TARGET SET FOR ‘SLEEPOUT FOR SOUL’ FUNDRAISER

If you’re willing to sleep rough for a night and raise much-needed funds… Newcastle’s Soul Cafe needs you.

It’s set a target of $80,000, and at least 100 participants, for this year’s ‘Sleepout for Soul’.

More than $10,000 has already been donated, ahead of its fundraising event in June.

“Last year we had 62 people sleep out and we raised $48,000 and every dollar raised goes to the work of soul – every dollar goes to our guest services.” – Matt Nichols, Soul Cafe

Soul Cafe provides at least 700 free meals each week to disadvantaged members of the community, many of whom are homeless.

The non-government funded organisation also provides medical and mental health support.

Head to soulcafe.org.au to register for the sleepout.
