North Coast boardrider Stu Kennedy is on track for a strong result at the Q-S 10,000 Billabong Pro in Portugal.
The Lennox Head local will face Frederico Morais in round five later tonight, with the winner to progress to the quarter finals.
Kennedy last night scored a narrow round four win, scraping past fellow Australian Chris Zaffis and American surfer Luke Gordon.
It follows a lean period for the regular footer, whose best result from his past five starts was an equal 25th in Spain.
