Where do we go from here regarding the ratepayers fight against the G.C. Councillors who have so blatently shown exactly what they think of the ratepayers they are supposed to represent.
Their latest vote for a pay rise is a dispicable act of total contempt for G.Coast residents, after all the latest uproar concerning water rates, and already over the top salaries, which they have obviously ignored. I’m appalled at their nerve!
It can’t be more obvious that they hold these positions for their own gratification and their overblown egos – the exact same reasons as to why they want a new Taj Mahal — what the hell for — why don’t they move into some of the numerous office buildings now that are crying out for buyers or lessees. Exactly what is wrong with their current premises — surely not for more staff! How can they go ahead with this when the concensu sof opinion is so apparent. ?

We are pensioners and have been here for 22 yrs. It has now become obvious that we cannot afford to live here any longer and the threats of water rates and electricity rates rising to terrifying figures in the next few years is scary to say the least. Our cost of living here is comparable to UK now! Ask anyone who has recently been to UK and are shocked by the cost of living up here now (before the recent crises I may add!) People can’t move out of the Coast quick enough.
Do our contemptible councillors realise that there are people really struggling to survive out there —- how would they like to survive on approx. $275.00 per week — how dare they vote for more money which will just be added to our rates once again. Who the hell are these people who think they are worth so much money? I for one have seen nothing they do to warrant such large amounts of our hard earned money!I
This latest money grabbing stint shows their apparent disregard for the people they represent.
So – what can we do about all of this ? We cannot let them continue snubbing us!
