A sombre commemoration was held in Taree today, recognising
police officers who’ve lost their lives.
And National Police Remembrance Day has added significance for the Manning Great Lakes this year, with the command losing an officer yesterday, following a long battle with cancer.
“While we who serve are the poorer for your passing we are indeed richer for your service may your loved ones be comforted may you rest in peace, Peter Thurtell Manning Great Lakes Police said.
Families of the fallen lit candles to remember their lost loved ones.
The work of those who’ve retired from the force was also celebrated with a medal presentation.
