BYRON TRAFFIC MEETING BRINGS FORWARD SOLUTIONS
An end to Byron Bay’s traffic woes may be just around the corner.
Last night 50 community representatives met with council to nut out solutions to the CBD’s ongoing parking and congestion problems.
“Dealing with parking, pedestrian access, cyclists, park and ride was even discussed last night.”
While the idea of a town bypass to ease congestion on Ewingsdale Road was the most popular solution, council still has a lot to discuss before reaching a decision.
“First and foremost we need to get an agreed plan, strategy in place that the community is behind and then we can move forward with funding options.”
Without taking land acquisition into account, a town bypass is estimated to cost between 9 and 15 million dollars.
