Yamba’s Convent Beach sewer pump station is set to undergo a major upgrade.
The aging gravity fed infrastructure suffered storm damage in 2016.
Clarence Valley Council says the old sewer line – located on the rock shelf – presents an environmental risk should it fail.
Work to demolish the existing pump station will begin next week with a new pressurised system set to be in place by November.
