LAST DITCH ATTEMPT TO STOP SAND QUARRY EXPANSION

More than 30 protestors will voice their opposition to the expansion of the Rocla Sand Quarry at a public meeting next week.

It’s a last ditch attempt to stop plans, with the state government putting forward a recommendation of approval to increase the mines operations by 36 hectares.

There’s concerns the expansion will damage the aquifer, which runs from the Hawkesbury River to Kulnura.

An information day was held at the Australian Walkabout Park today, to drum up support for Monday’s meeting with the Planning Assessment Committee.
