Police have called off a search prompted by reports a man had disappeared after diving from the jetty at Coffs Harbour.
Officers were told just before midday yesterday a grey haired man aged between 40 and 50 had failed to surface.
Water police searched briefly again this morning before resuming normal duties when new information came through.
The wife of a man fitting the description of the swimmer called to say it was probably her husband and he’s safe and well at work.
Police hope to interview the man tonight.
