Merewether’s Ryan Callinan, was among the winners to advance past the round of 32 in Bali, thanks to a solid win over Hawaii’s Seth Moniz.
Callinan opened with a six point eight, the highest scoring wave of the heat, then backed that up with a high four.
The Novocastrian will now face Brazil’s Filipe Toledo in the round of 16.
