A 40-year-old man has been refused bail in Newcastle Local Court, accused of indecently assaulting a teenage girl in his care at a facility last month.
The state’s Child Abuse Squad began an investigation following reports a 15-year-old girl had been indecently assaulted by a man who was employed by a care facility in the Newcastle area.
The man was arrested at Waratah Police Station yesterday afternoon, where he was charged with several offences.
Police allege the incidents occurred when the girl was in his care.
The man is due to face court again next Wednesday.
