The Knights and their fans are breathing a collective sigh of relief, with news veteran player Tony Butterfield is recovering after collapsing at an Oz Tag exhibition match.
The 53-year-old collapsed in the sheds following the weekend game in Newcastle, and went into cardiac arrest.
The ground doctor and an off-duty trauma nurse commenced CPR until paramedics arrived.
Butterfield was rushed to hospital for emergency surgery, and is now said to be in a stable condition and in good spirits.
