A David Williams hat-trick has secured the Wellington Phoenix fourth spot on the A-League ladder, after defeating the Jets 4-1 at Westpac Stadium.
Williams’ first came just 30 seconds into play as the Phoenix opened up the Newcastle field.
Williams left his best until last though… his third coming from a brilliant right-foot strike to sail past Jets keeper, Glen Moss.
The Jets remain in seventh spot, five-points behind sixth-placed Adelaide United.
