Kurri’s Chad Reed has raced to his best result, of the American Supercross season, amid atrocious conditions in San Diego during round five.
The 36-year-old started 14th, but was quickly inside the top 10, as his rivals struggled.
Reed moved into fifth in the closing stages, and held that spot until the finish line.
