Following the construction of the Split Rock Dam to Barraba pipeline, Leed Engineering will carry out work at the Barraba Water Treatment Plant to improve water quality.
Tamworth Regional Council says poor quality water doesn’t occur often, but it wants to eliminate these instances altogether.
“In this case in the one that we had just recently it seemed to be, the poor quality water was related to a bulk water release from split rock dam, so we’re not sure whether every time there’s a release we might get poor quality water.”
Work is expected to be completed by the end of January next year.
