Newcastle’s Bolton Street Car park officially has a new owner.
At 10 o’clock, Lake Macquarie businessman Darren Nicholson took over the site.
Mr Nicholson, who also owns the King Street car park, plans to restore the building’s heritage facade and also build a cafe.
Mechanical sweepers are currently being used to begin the clean up operation.
The redevelopment is expected to cost $1 million.
