Newcastle fast bowler Greg West will wear the magenta in this season’s men’s Big Bash, signing for the Sydney Sixers.
The left arm quick took five wickets in his debut Shield match for the Blues this week.
“I remember going in Newcastle when I was 12 to a shield game up there and they were like superheroes I couldn’t believe I was able to get my bat signed and autographed to now be in a position where I was playing a game amongst people that I looked up to yeah incredible”
The 24-year-old has some experience in Big Bash, having played for Adelaide three years ago.
“That little bit of exposure was good, playing at Adelaide and a couple of big grounds I guess learning about training for big bash and being in the squad certainly put me in good stead for this year I think”
