Police are reminding people exercising outdoors to maintain social distancing, after dozens of surfers were spotted at Bar Beach today.
While Newcastle’s beaches are closed, lifeguards remain on duty.
Police say surfing is allowed, provided people follow the 1.5 metre rule, but those getting in the water do so at their own risk.
