Police allegedly uncovered a shotgun and 150 rounds of ammunition inside a car at Shoal Bay overnight.
Officers made the discovery after pulling over to speak with a man, standing next to the vehicle on Shoal Bay Road.
The 44-year-old man was charged with firearms offences and drink driving.
