While parts of the Hunter & Central Coast are expecting heavy rain and strong winds, further north, a total fire ban has been declared for Wednesday.
The Rural Fire Service has declared the ban in the far-north-coast region, which includes Ballina, Byron Bay, Lismore, Kyogle and Tweed Heads.
Strong north-westerly winds along with temperatures in the mid 30s are expected for the region.
