Dozens of people in Lake Macquarie were evacuated this morning after a fierce blaze tore through a petrol station at Freemans Waterhole.
The fire broke out at around 4.30 at the United service station on Freemans Drive.
Residents at a nearby caravan park were forced to flee as 50 firefighters battled to contain the blaze and stop it from spreading to gas and petrol tanks.
