A man’s been charged over the alleged sexual assault of a young girl in the Hunter two years ago.
In June this year, detectives from the Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad began investigating reports a nine-year-old girl had been abused by a man known to her while he was staying in the Newcastle area in 2018.
A 41-year-old man was arrested at Campbelltown police station just after 5pm yesterday.
He was charged with one count of sexual intercourse with a child under 10.
He was refused bail and will face Campbelltown local court today.
