The first of 800 needy families has collected some Christmas cheer from Newcastle’s Christmas Warehouse.
A combined initiative of three charities, the warehouse distributes gifts donated by the community, many from the bikies’ Toy Run.
“We estimate there’s probably $200,000 worth of toys we have to have available so yeah it’s a lot of toys.”
And the need in the Hunter has never been greater.
We’ve found in the last six to eight weeks people have been getting large bills for electricity and gas, everything has gone up it’s really hard for people to manage.”
