A mixed weekend for Newcastle in the Australian Ice Hockey League with the North Stars beating the Braves in Canberra last night, after losing to the Melbourne Ice on Saturday at home.
Newcastle opened the scoring against the Victorians through Zane Jones.
But Melbourne dominated the second period, scoring three times.
The hosts then grabbed two great goals to send the game to a shootout.
Unfortunately the visitors got the job done in extra time.
