They’re described as ‘the backbone of the country’, and today, members of the 25 Hunter branches of the Country Women’s Association gathered to look at how their drought-relief efforts can continue into 2019.
“I think it’s really important both for morale and because so many country women understand what is going on and where it’s needed and we know that it’s long term not short term.”
Members of the Dixon Park Surf Life Saving Club have also helped, donating two semi-trailers worth of hay.
