Some charity groups across the Hastings have been left disappointed following the installation of the Return and Earn scheme.
Since the end of August, people have had the option to donate money from the reverse vending machines to local not-for-profit groups.
But the groups have received as little or less than $40, with suggestions more could be done to market the option of donating.
