PRISON GUARD IN HOT WATER

A prison guard from Southport, who keeps an eye on inmates at Brisbane Correctional Centre, has found himself inside a watch-house cell accused of blackmail.
It’s alleged 33-year-old Daniel Smith was hired by his friend, 57-year-old Paradise Waters Builder Gregory Ross, to threaten a well-known Sydney architect, and demand he pay tens-of-thousands of dollars owed to him for his work.
Smith is also charged with malicious damage for allegedly spray-painting the architect’s house with the word ‘Pay.’
New South Wales police issued a warrant for the pair’s arrest and last night, both men handed themselves into Southport Police Station.
They’ve been granted bail.
