Lake Macquarie’s Ky Willott will continue a long-standing family tradition, when he plays for New South Wales in the Australian Hockey League this Sunday.
His grandfather, father and brothers have all represented their state.
Ky’s first assignment will be against Tasmania.
“They’re a very handy team. I’ve played in Tasmania 3-4 times now, they’ve got a few Kookaburras as well, which will be a good match up.”
The 17-year-old will make his debut alongside Maitland’s own former Kookaburra, Simon Orchard.
“He’s a great mentor, brings experience and knowledge to the game and helps us young debutants out.”
