Port Macquarie’s iconic Flagstaff Hill is about to undergo important heritage and environmental maintenance.
Flagstaff was a prominent land and sea marker in the early 1900s, assisting in the navigation of maritime transport in and out of the town via the Hastings River.
As part of the work, banksia trees on the western side will be removed and new signage will be installed.
The project forms part of the region’s bicentenary celebrations, promoting its rich heritage.
