Ryan Callinan’s run at the US Open of Surfing is over eliminated in this morning’s third round.
The result went down to the wire – the Merewether local was chasing a 4.6 on this wave but it was judged a 4.3.
It was tough going for competitors – the surf was small, and opportunities were few and far between.
The result means Callinan will likely drop down the world qualifying series rankings as he looks to regain his place on the championship tour.
