The Port Macquarie-Hastings and Mid Coast council areas will begin their bushfire danger periods a month early, due to the extreme dry conditions.
It means from September 1, anyone wanting to light a fire on their property will require a permit.
The RFS is urging residents to get prepared, and make sure they have a bushfire survival plan.
