The Clarence Valley Council is offering residents an incentive to have their rates notices sent by email.
All those who sign up to electronic billing will be entered into a draw with the chance to win a $1500 discount on their rates.
The council currently spends around $80,000 each year posting the quarterly bills.
“most households receive a lot of their bills electronically and I think council is probably a a little bit behind the times”
Ratepayers have until August 3rd to sign up.
