The Tamworth community today celebrated National Reconciliation Week in the town’s CBD.
Aboriginal elder Len Waters conducted a smoking ceremony, welcoming the crowd outside council chambers.
Students from Westdale public school performed traditional songs…and messages of reconciliation were planted in a nearby garden.
“It’s just the opportunity for everyone to be a part in a way that they see fit by giving a message that they think is appropriate for reconciliation week, but also having something quite visual for people to see and say what’s it about and how can I be involved.”
