Tamworth historians were acknowledged at today’s Biennial Heritage Awards at the Pavillion Function Centre, for preserving the town’s history.
Seven people were recognised, including Bendemer Hotel publican, Leanne Summers.
She took away the award for heritage tourism… following her work on the 1864 historical building.
Leanne says she will use her prizze money from council to continue restoring the building.
