Seven protesters charged when Newcastle Council first started trying to remove the Laman Street figs fronted court today.

The group, including Save Our Figs spokeswoman, Fee Mozeley, are charged with being in enclosed lands and wilfully disobeying a notice or barrier.

  1. No charges of assaulting police or intimidating the public? Shame. I’d have liked to see these people actually get what’s coming to them, not a slap on the wrist. They need to know that while peaceful protest is encouraged, you can’t act the way they did and get away with it.
