A car detailer in the Hunter has been back-paid almost $17,000 after years of being underpaid by his employer.
The 35-year-old was not paid his correct minimum wage or weekend penalty rates for five years.
The casual employee has now been fully reimbursed the $16,800 he was owed.
The business near Newcastle agreed to voluntarily rectify the underpayments, which dated back to May 2011.
