A 25-year-old man remains in hospital tonight, following an early morning shooting in the Newcastle suburb of Mayfield West.
Police attended a unit in Buruda Street just before 5:30, following reports of a gunshot.
On arrival, they found a man suffering a bullet wound to his thigh.
Police are appealing for public help as they chase possible leads.
