With footy finals and a long weekend looming, Richmond Police are reminding motorists to slow down.
Double demerit points will apply over the next three days with highway patrol officers out in force targeting speeding, fatigue and drink driving.
“Enjoy the football by all means but please nominate a safe driver, enjoy the footy and get home safely.”
The plea follows a horror few days on North Coast roads, last week.
“We had a couple of fatalities and people injured and once again it looked as though speed and alcohol were a factor in those two incidents.”
