A police dog has collapsed, after chasing two men for more than three kilometres following a break and enter in Adamstown Heights near Newcastle.
Local police, with the assistance of police dog Kane, tracked down two men who had allegedly attempted to break into a Stayton Street home on Saturday evening.
Following the arrest, police dog Kane collapsed.
He was taken to a veterinary clinic in a serious condition, where he is still receiving treatment.
