AUSSIE BONDS ABANDONS CESSNOCK

Cessnock is an average Australian working town that, for more than 60 years, has been making Australian working gear for Bonds.

The community is reeling from Pacific Brands’ decision to shut up shop, and move the 83 local jobs offshore.

  1. The people who made the decisions to close the Cessnock Bonds are not true Australians. Bonds is Australia and Australians should banish them from our shores and leave our Aussie products alone. Bonds proudly made the volunteer shirts for the Sydney Olympics and the Cessnock factory has been one of the core factories for Bonds in Australia, hidden away in the Hunter Valley. I am sad to see it leave Cessnock as family ties are felt all the way from North Qld with my sister in law who has worked there all her life clocking up almost 40 years of work hours, year in and year out, I only hope she will be looked after by our government as they claim they will and provide the support to the workers for letting go of one of our aussie icons.
