BUDDING SCIENTISTS PUT TO THE TEST AT UNE

Budding scientists and engineers put their thinking skills to the test at the University of New England today for the Highlands Challenge.
Year 10 students from across the region were pitted against each other in a series of critical thinking challenges.
Creating weight-bearing bridges, water turbines and towers.
The aim of the day is to encourage students to think outside the box when it comes to career choices.
“In the future we’re thinking the careers that these students might be undertaking don’t actually exist yet, they’re still being created as new technologies come around.”
Today’s winners will progress to the state finals.
